Taiwan’s domestic aluminum scrap prices have seen an uptick in the recent week, a trend driven by a mix of local and international pressures.

A significant factor was the constrained supply of recycled materials. High summer temperatures and stricter environmental oversight in some areas have slowed down the recycling and circulation of aluminum scrap, leading to fewer available resources on the market.

At the same time, demand for these materials was on the rise. Internationally, high primary aluminum costs are pushing downstream recycled aluminum plants to seek out scrap. Domestically, some recycled aluminum alloy companies have resumed their operations and are actively restocking their inventory, further raising the demand for recycled materials.
