China’s Baosteel and Vietnam's Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS) increased their hot-rolled coil (HRC) price by US$60.8/ton and US$145/ton separately. Taiwan's China Steel Corp. (CSC) will announce its new price for May this week.

As the raw material cost remained high, the HRC offers from the EU countries, the US, and Asia have been greatly hiked. Therefore, it was expected that Taiwan's CSC might increase its price by about US$50/ton for May.

However, CSC's chairman said they will consider the competitiveness from their downstream customers and also hoped their customers to upgrade and develop high-value products.
