Taiwan's stainless steel HRC imports rise in Jan-Apr

According to statistics from Taiwan Customs, Taiwan imported approximately 346,000 tons of stainless steel hot-rolled coil (HRC) in the first four months of 2020, rising by 15.23% from the same period last year.

Among them, the import volume from Indonesia was about 198,000 tons, soaring by 42.43% year on year, accounting for 57% to the total. The imports from China were about 120,000 tons.

In April, Taiwan imported around 113,000 tons of stainless steel HRC. Indonesia supplied about 79,000 tons, skyrocketing by 175% from 30,000 tons in the previous month, accounting for up to 70%. The second major supplier was China, with around 25,000 tons, compared to 60,000 tons a month ago, accounting for 22%.
