After Taiwan’s upstream steel mills, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), Tang Eng, and Walsin Lihwa, kept their prices of stainless steel 304 flat in September, Taiwan’s stainless steel market was expected to recover in the fourth quarter.

With construction projects and industrial shipment speeding up by the end of this year, Taiwan’s stainless steel demand would also increase.

Yusco indicated that as the global raw material prices keep stable, some steel product prices start to increase. Also, while the key steel mills cut production and downstream buyers’ inventory went down, the supply and demand gradually remained balanced. As a result, the market was expected to be optimistic in the future.
