Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable producer in Taiwan, announced stainless steel wire rod prices for May. Among them, 300 series’ prices increased by NT$5,000/ton. The surcharge of 316 and copper-contained and welded products was raised by NT$1,000-3,000/ton. Besides, the prices for the 200 series increased by NT$2,000/ton, and the 400 series remained unchanged.

Walsin Lihwa indicated that nickel, molybdenum, and copper prices kept increasing. Also, Taiwanese dollar depreciation caused manufacturing costs to increase greatly. In addition, Taiwan’s Tier Index of Business Climate has grown for four consecutive months, which shows the market is gradually recovering.
