Tata Steel employs around 8,000 people across all its operations in the UK, including the UK's largest steelworks at Port Talbot in South Wales. To execute its decarbonization plans, the company wants the UK government to grant it 1.5 billion pounds.

Tata Steel is also seeking support from the UK government in two forms. Second, it includes encouraging the transition to green steel and ensuring a cost-competitive landscape.
