It was reported that ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe, Germany's largest steel company, was discussing the merger of steel business with Tata Steel.

Since ThyssenKrupp had a loss of 372 million euros in the first half of the fiscal year, it was possible that ThyssenKrupp will directly shut down or sold assets.

ThyssenKrupp gave up its merger plan with Tata Steel a year ago, but both sides still kept in touch and negotiating. In addition, ThyssenKrupp also discussed with Sweden's SSAB and China's Baosteel about the merger of its steel business.
