The management division of Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe is working on a revamp plan in order to figure out overcapacity, high costs, and competition from Asia. Therefore, parts of the job and annual production capacity might be cut.

According to the statement from IG Metall, the dominant metalworkers' union in Germany, the automobile industry, which is one of the biggest Thyssenkrupp customers, was currently under pessimistic operation.

Considering Thyssenkrupp might narrow its business scale, Thyssenkrupp workers have drawn up a list of conditions, including a commitment to investments and job protection.
