Turkey imports more coal in Dec 2023 than Nov

According to statistics, Turkey's coal imports totaled around 3.6 million tons in December last year, growing by 6.3% compared to the previous month and dropping by 13.3% from the prior year level.

The value of these imports was US$447 million, a month-on-month drop of 5.1% and a year-on-year decrease of 44.3%.

In the whole year of 2023, Turkey imported a total of 40.2 million tons of coal, hiking by 6.9% year on year, breaking the record high. However, the import value in 2023 dropped by 31.2% year on year to US$5.7 billion.
