Turkish crude steel output hikes in Jan-Sep

According to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output reached 25.9 million tons in the first nine months of this year, growing by 2.6% compared to the same period a year ago, replacing Germany to become the largest crude steel producer in Europe and the seventh-largest producer in the world.

During the period, global crude steel output was 1.4 billion tons, decreasing by 3.2% compared to the same period in 2019.

In September, Turkish crude steel output had a year-on-year increase of 18% to 3.2 million tons, and its exports reached 1.9 million tons, with an export value of US$1.3 billion, dropping by 3.9% year on year.
