Ukraine's crude steel output decreases in Jan-Sep

According to data from the Ukrainian steelmakers' association Ukrmetallurgprom, in the first nine months of this year, Ukraine's crude steel production was around 5.53 million tons, decreasing by 66.1% year on year.

In September alone, the crude steel output from Ukraine was about 340,000 tons, dropping by 82.8% from the same month of last year.

Because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, at least two major steel mills in Ukraine were destroyed. Therefore, the steel output declined greatly. Also, Russia locked ports at the black sea, so the logistics were interrupted.
