Ukraine's iron ore exports slide in Jan-May

According to the latest customs statistics, Ukraine's mining companies exported approximately 13.5 million tons of iron ore from January to May 2025, decreasing by 12.8% from the same period in 2024.

China was the main destination with about 7.06 million tons, down by 4.3% yearly, followed by Slovakia (1.99 million tons) and Poland (1.93 million tons).

In May, Ukraine exported roughly 2.4 million tons, down by 9.7% from April and 23.4% from May 2024. The total value was US$180.9 million, sliding by 11.8% from a month ago and 24.2% from the same month last year.
