Ukraine's pig iron, crude steel & steel products output increase in May

According to data from the Ukrainian steelmakers' association Ukrmetallurgprom, in May, Ukraine's pig iron output totaled about 635,000 tons, increasing by 9.4% from the previous month and growing by 8.3% from the same month a year ago.

Meanwhile, the country produced about 738,000 tons of crude steel, a year-on-year increase of 26.5% and a month-on-month growth of 3.2%. The steel products output was about 595,000 tons, increasing by 1.8% month on month and by 26.5% year on year.

In the first five months of this year, Ukraine's pig iron production was 2.84 million tons, increasing by 20.8% compared to the same period a year ago. In addition, the crude steel and steel products output was 3.14 million tons (increasing by 31.2% year on year) and 2.57 million tons (growing by 29.5% year on year).
