Ukrainian seaport transportation surges by 77.2% in Jan-Aug 2024

According to data from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), Ukraine's seaport transportation volume reached 66.8 million tons in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year surge of 77.2%.
Among them, 41.7 million tons were agricultural products, and the remaining were other products, especially from the mining and metals industry.
In July, Ukrainian Railways transported nearly 1.3 million tons of iron ore to ports, and the total export transportation volume was approximately 2.6 million tons.
Statistics showed that Ukrainian ports’ cargo transshipment amounted to 62 million tons in 2023, a year-on-year hike of 5%, of which iron ore accounted for 1.9 million tons, a proportion of 5.9%.
