The US announced a one-year suspension of the 25% tariffs of Section 232 on Ukrainian steel imports to support the Ukrainian steel industry. Ukrainian Steel welcomes this, arguing that it will reduce some of the costs, but the impact on sales will be limited.

However, Ukrainian railway wheel and steel pipe producer Interpipe indicated that it still needs to pay 23.75% anti-dumping duties on line pipes and 27.8% anti-dumping duties on OCTG products despite removing Section 232 tariffs. In addition, the US still imposes 41.7% AD duties on the Ukrainian rebar, 90.3% on HRC and 237.9% on carbon steel sheets, and 7.5% on the welded pipe. Anti-dumping duties are 35%~44% for wire rods, 23.8% for seamless tubes, and 19.3% for wire rods.

Only the removal of all anti-dumping duties can substantially boost sales.
