UK’s recycling rate of aluminum packaging keeps climbing

According to the data from the UK Environment Agency, in the third quarter of this year, a total of 37,815 tons of aluminum packaging were collected for recycling in the UK. As of the third quarter, the UK has exceeded 80% of its annual aluminum packaging collection and recycling target.
The recycling rate of aluminum packaging in the UK has hiked for three consecutive quarters, and the recycling volume was expected to surpass its annual target.
Tom Giddings, Executive Director of the aluminum packaging recycling organization Alupro, said that many people believed the high recycling rate was a short-term trend during the COVID-19 epidemic, but this trend is still continuing currently. If the recycling level remains high after entering the fourth quarter, the recycling rate of aluminum packaging this year was expected to hit a record.
