The US has lifted the extra tariffs on 78% of Japan’s steel imports and 64% of aluminum imports in May and June respectively as the manufacturing market continued being sluggish.

The US started to impose the additional tariffs of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum for Japan, which aroused worries for the Japanese industry. However, an analysis said that the additional tariffs on most materials were lifted.

It was understood that the tariff exemptions must be renewed every year.
