US’ crude steel output in week ending Mar 16 decreases

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on March 16, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.71 million net tons, decreasing by 1.2% week on week and by 0.2% year on year, respectively.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 77.2%, a week-on-week and year-on-year decrease of 0.9% and 0.3%, respectively.

As of March 16, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 18.3 million net tons, decreasing by 3.1% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 75.9%, decreasing by 1.8% year on year.
