US’ crude steel output in week ending Mar 30 increases

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on March 30, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.72 million net tons, increasing by 1.1% week on week and by 0.2% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 77.5%, a week-on-week and year-on-year increase of 0.8% and 0.6%, respectively.

As of March 30, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 21.8 million net tons, decreasing by 2.6% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 76.2%, decreasing by 1.5% year on year.
