US’ crude steel output in week ending Sep 16 increases

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on September 16, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.73 million net tons, increasing by 0.7% week on week and growing by 2.9% year on year.

During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 76.2%, a week-on-week increase of 0.5% and a year-on-year decrease of 0.2%.

As of September 16, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 63.3 million net tons, dropping by 1.6% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 76%, decreasing by 3.4% year on year.
