US’ crude steel production climbs

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended December 19, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.62 million short tons, climbing by 3.3% from the same period a week ago while sliding by 10.8% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 73.2%, rising by 2.3% week on week but going down by 5.3% year on year.

As of the week ended December 19, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 76.95 million short tons this year, a year-on-year decrease of 18%. The capacity utilization rate was 67.4%, a year-on-year reduction of 12.4%.
