US’ crude steel production climbs

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended February 27, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.75 million short tons, hiking by 0.2% from the same period a week ago while sliding by 7% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 77.2%, increasing by 0.2% week on week but going down by 4.1% year on year.

As of the week ended February 27, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 14.36 million short tons this year, a year-on-year decrease of 8.4%. The capacity utilization rate was 76.5%, a year-on-year reduction of 5.4%.
