US’ crude steel production in week ending Feb 11 rises

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending February 11, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.664 million short tons, increasing by 0.5% from the same period a week ago but down by 5.2% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 74.4%, up by 0.3% week on week and down by 6.4% year on year.

As of the week ending February 11, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 9.772 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 6.4%. The capacity utilization rate was 72.8%, a year-on-year reduction of 7.5%.
