US’ crude steel production in week ending Sep 23 slightly increases

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending September 23, the production of US’ crude steel totaled 1.735 million short tons, slightly increasing by 0.1% from the same period a week ago and rising by 3.0% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 76.3, up by 0.1% week on week and down by 0.1% year on year.

As of the week ending September 23, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 65.03 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 1.5%. The capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, a year-on-year reduction of 3.4%.
