US’ crude steel production reduces

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended May 16th, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.18 million short tons, falling by 1.9% from the same period a week ago and also dropping by 37.2% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 52.7%, decreasing by 1% week on week and also going down by 28.1% year on year.

As of the week ended May 16th, the production of US’ crude steel amounted to around 32.04 million short tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.6%. The capacity utilization rate was 71.2%, a year-on-year reduction of 10.2%.
