US’ crude steel production rises

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ended May 29, the production of US’ crude steel totaled around 1.84 million short tons, rising by 2.4% from the same period a week ago while rising by 50.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 81.5%, increasing by 2.5% week on week and also going up by 26.9% year on year.

As of the week ended May 29, the production of US’ crude steel has amounted to around 35.91 million short tons this year, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%. The capacity utilization rate was 78.1%, a year-on-year hike of 8.2%.
