US’ HDG imports increase in Sep

According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 173,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheet and strip in September, up by 9.8% compared to the previous month while dropping by 2.8% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 83,400 tons, falling from 84,700 tons in the previous month and 87,800 tons in September 2019. Other main sources included Taiwan, South Africa, Mexico, and the UAE, with a separate amount of around 19,700 tons, 19,100 tons, 11,500 tons, and 9,500 tons.
