On October 22, 2024, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) announced its preliminary ruling of the countervailing duty (CVD) investigation on disposable aluminum containers, pans, trays, and lids (disposable aluminum containers) from China.

The preliminary subsidy rate assigned to Zhejiang Acumen Living Technology Co., Ltd. is 312.91%, based on an adverse inference due to the company’s lack of cooperation with information requests. Henan Aluminium Corporation and all other companies received 78.12%.

The USDOC is scheduled to make a final determination by March 4, 2025. The US International Trade Commission (USITC) will announce its final ruling only if the USDOC makes an affirmative determination on the CVD case.

The products involved are under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheading 7615.10.7125.
