According to August statistics from the US Census Bureau, the US imported around 271,000 tons of primary aluminum, under HS code 7601, which declined by 19% compared to the same month a year ago.

The decrease was due to a great reduction in August imports from some countries, including Qatar (a year-on-year decline of 76% to roughly 3,200 tons), Russia (a year-on-year decline of 79% to roughly 3,400 tons), India (a year-on-year decline of nearly 86% to roughly 2,600 tons), Australia (a year-on-year decline of 89% to roughly 2,700 tons), and China (a year-on-year decline of nearly 99% to 47 tons).
