US’ stainless steel price increases due to short supply risk

According to the market in the US, the stainless steel price in the US has continuously shown strong in the past week.
From some of the views from the market, the current supply for nickel and scrap was both showed tight, which was the main for the long-term high stainless steel prices in the US.
The nickel ore futures price on the London Metal Exchange (LME) showed US$23,945/ton on February 15th, increased by 1.78% week on week; the inventory for nickel on the LME showed a 1,824 tons decline within a week, came to 83,820 tons.
