US’ steel coils exports slide in Jul

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 39,200 tons of steel coils in July, decreasing by 8.3% compared to the previous month while rising by 39.5% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the exports to Mexico accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 29,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 9.5% and a year-on-year hike of 59.3%. Canada ranked second with around 9,900 tons, and the exports to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.

The export value was approximately US$44 million during the period, down by 0.68% month on month and surging by 98.6% year on year.
