According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US steel mills’ steel shipments reached about 7.8 million net tons in July, up by 8.9% compared to the same month a year ago. However, this figure slightly dropped by 0.7% from the previous month's shipments.
In the first seven months of this year, year-to-date shipments totaled around 52.94 million net tons, growing by 4.0% over the same period in 2024.
Compared to the January-July period in 2024, corrosion-resistant sheet and strip shipments rose by 2%, hot-rolled sheet and strip shipments declined by 2%, and cold-rolled sheet and strip shipments decreased by 5%.
