According to the final result of the expedited fourth five-year sunset review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) found that the withdrawal of the current CVD order on stainless steel plate in coils from South Africa would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of countervailable subsidies.
The subsidy rate assigned to Columbus Stainless Steel Company and all other South African companies subject to this review was 3.95%.
The US International Trade Commission (USITC) will issue its final ruling in the coming weeks to decide whether to extend the duties for another five years.
