After the Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) announced its 10.5% risen in steel prices, the other Brazilian steelmakers should readjust their prices in the coming weeks.

The rise of price was mainly based on the needs of steel companies due to rising costs, according to the president of the National Institute of Steel Distributors (Inda), Carlos Loureiro.

According to the president of Inda, Usiminas and ArcelorMittal are already moving to promote this increase starting from July, the price increase promoted by these companies should be around 10%.

Despite the reduction in the demand for steel, Loureiro believes that these increases should be passed to customers because there is a small recovery in some sectors such as civil construction, household appliances, road implements, and agricultural machinery.
