Vale, the world's largest producer of iron ore and nickel, planned to collaborate with Sweden's H2 Green Steel to build industrial hubs in Brazil and North America.

Vale regarded this plan as part of its decarbonization efforts, with the establishment of the green industry center focusing on the production of low-carbon products for the steel industry, with the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Vale has previously agreed to supply iron ore pellets to H2 Green Steel's steelworks in Boden. At present, H2 Green Steel is exploring the use of iron ore pellets to produce low-carbon steel value chain products.

H2 Green Steel and Vale's plan will mark Vale's first step into the green hydrogen market and reinforce Vale's role as a driver of the Brazilian low-carbon industry.
