Vale USA selected for iron ore briquette plant construction in US

Vale USA has been chosen by the US government to negotiate an award for the construction of an iron ore briquette plant in the US. This briquette, utilizing Vale's low-temperature agglomeration of high-quality iron ore, can reduced up to 10% carbon emission while applying in steel production.

Following almost 20 years of development, Vale's innovative briquette technology promises high mechanical strength and aims to contribute to global decarbonization efforts in the steel sector. The negotiation seeks an award of up to US$282.9 million, with plans to expand production capacity worldwide, aligning with Vale's commitment to reduce emissions and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
