Vedanta Limited, the largest aluminum producer in India, has received the ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for its aluminum smelter located in the Special Economic Zone at Jharsuguda, Odisha, India. This certificate is for the production of a wide range of primary aluminum products.

The ASI Certificate Program is developed by multi-stakeholders. It is the only standard initiative that is comprehensive, voluntary, and sustainable for the aluminum value chain.

The ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) aims to address sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain, as well as crucial issues such as biodiversity, labor rights, indigenous people's rights, and greenhouse gas emissions.
