Vedanta’s aluminum production hikes in Q1 FY20

India’s mining giant Vedanta reported that the company’s aluminum production was 579,000 tons in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024 ended June 30, 2023, rising by 1% compared to the previous quarter and by 2% from the year-ago level, mainly due to the increased operational efficiency.
During the period, alumina production at the Lanjigarh refinery fell by 4% quarter on quarter and by 18% year on year to 395,000 tons. Pig iron output was 213,000 tons, rising from 189,000 tons a year ago. Saleable production totaled 324,000 tons, up by 20% year on year due to higher production capacity.
