Yieh Hsing Enterprise Co., Ltd., one of the major wire rod manufacturers in Taiwan, originally planned to announce the prices of its stainless steel wire rod for May this week. However, due to the rising international nickel prices, Yieh Hsing finally decided not to announce prices for May. The quotations will be negotiated by individual customers, adjusting prices flexibly based on end users’ demand.

According to market participants, based on Walsin Lihwa’s wire rod prices for May, Yieh Hsing was expected to hike its price by more than NT$4,000/ton.

Due to the recent stronger nickel prices and China’s cancellation of export tax rebate on stainless steel, the future prices of stainless steel wire rods were expected to be bullish.
