Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel mill in Taiwan, announced its new prices for August.

For domestic sales, the price of 304 stainless steel products was raised by NT$1,500/ton, 430 was kept unchanged, and the surcharge of 316L products was hiked by NT$1,000/ton.

In terms of export prices, the price of 304 was raised by US$50/ton, and the 430 price and the surcharge of 316L were raised by US$30/ton.

Yusco said that China’s stainless steel price rose last week, and the inquiries from Asian, European, and American markets have increased, which meant the end users started to purchase for their inventories for the second half of this year.

The production cost of stainless steel making has been pushed up due to the depreciating Taiwan dollar and rising raw material prices. Therefore, after considering the market competitiveness and moderately reflecting cost increase, Yusco made such a decision on a price adjustment.
