After Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Taiwan, filed a complaint against Vietnamese stainless steel cold-rolled coil for dumping, imports of 300-series stainless steel coil shrank to 1,254 tons in August, a 44% drop from July. Also, Import prices surged.

Customs statistics show that imports of 300-series stainless steel cold-rolled coil in August reached 2,273 tons, the lowest level since October of last year. While Vietnam remains the largest importer of Taiwan, imports have declined significantly for three consecutive months since June.

This demonstrates that the benefits of Yusco's lawsuit are already evident, and this move will contribute to a rebound in the domestic market.
