Turkey's annual demand for stainless steel reaches more than 700,000 tons, of which 75% depends on imports. Therefore, China mills have taken advantage of its complete supply chain and affordable prices, and the export volume to the Turkish market has increased significantly.

In addition, Turkey's energy is mostly dependent on import sources. The production costs of local stainless steel mills have increased, making it difficult to compete with imported prices.

According to statistics, China's stainless steel exports to Turkey in 2021 November were about 52,000 tons, an increase of 64% from the previous month and a surge of 189% from the same period last year. From January to November in 2021, the export volume reached 357,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 98.8%.
