Alcoa Corporation announced that it has completed the US$47 million capital project at its Deschambault aluminum smelter in Quebec, Canada, which will raise the stability, efficiency, and production at this smelter.

The installation of new electrical infrastructure has been finished and it will help the smelter improve operations.

A third electrical transformer was also installed, as a part of this project, to provide a more intensive electric current to the smelting pots and increase metal output. Besides, the improved environmental equipment will enable the future expanded aluminum production to meet the environmental requirement.

The Canadian government promised to invest CA$10 million in the Deschambault project through its Strategic Innovation Fund in 2019.
