Argentina’s crude steel production drops in Feb

According to data from the Argentinian steel association, Cámara Argentina de Acero (CAA), Argentina produced around 319,000 tons of crude steel in February this year, sliding by nearly 10% compared to the previous month and also falling by 3.6% from the same month a year earlier.

During the period, the output of hot-rolled finished steel products had a month-on-month decrease of 2.2% and a year-on-year reduction of 1.7% to roughly 355,000 tons. The output of cold-rolled flat steel products dropped by 19% month on month and 22% year on year, reaching approximately 96,000 tons.

In the first two months of this year, Argentina’s crude steel output was down by 4.1% to around 673,000 tons, hot-rolled finished steel output slid by 7% to nearly 717,000 tons, cold-rolled flat steel output dropped by 18.7% to roughly 213,000 tons, all year on year.
