Alcoa Corp., a leading aluminum producer in the US, said that its aluminum shipment was expected to be between 2.5 and 2.6 million tons in 2023, in line with the level of 2022, as lower-estimated trading volume offset the additional shipments from the restarted Alumar smelter in Brazil and the Portland smelter in Australia.

In terms of alumina, Alcoa expected its total alumina shipments, including externally sourced alumina, to reach 12.7 to 12.9 million tons in 2023, 500,000 tons lower than the 2022 level due to the partial production cut in its San Ciprián alumina plant and lower bauxite quality at the refineries in Australia.
