Alcoa Corp., the largest aluminum producer in the US, announced that it would stop selling products to Russia and also stop purchasing raw materials from Russia due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Roy Harvey, the President and CEO of Alcoa, said that the company was evaluating what to do with the sales of aluminum to Russian businesses.

However, it was understood that the US government is considering delaying direct sanctions on RUSAL because it could disrupt the global aluminum supply which is currently facing shortages.
