Safety culture is key to running a safe aluminum smelter, said Ali Al Baqali, the Chief Executive Officer of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba).

Alba is the second-largest aluminum smelter in the world and one of the largest industrial companies in the Middle East.

This week, a new safety and ESG campaign was launched by this group at its plant in Manama. This campaign will last for three days. Activities like a presentation on renewable energy and its role in the realization of decarbonization, a competition involving the entire plant, and floor visits by Alba’s top brass would be included in this campaign.

By organizing year-round safety campaigns, Alba believed that they will improve their safety practices and behaviors.
