According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China’s primary aluminum production totaled 3.41 million tons in November this year, growing by 9.4% compared to the same month a year ago.

The increase was mainly due to the new production capacity launched in Inner Mongolia and the accelerated production in Sichuan and Guangxi due to the relaxed power curtailment measures.

China’s strict power curtailment measures in 2021 have sharply dropped aluminum production. However, in the past nine months, China’s primary aluminum production had year-on-year growth every month.

In the first 11 months of this year, China produced 36.77 million tons of primary aluminum, a year-on-year increase of nearly 4%.
