Aluminum producers expected electric vehicle opportunities. The Brussels-based European Aluminium industry association saw aluminum playing an important role in the green transition and will get involved in electric vehicle (EV) and alternative energy markets.

The European aluminum industry helps to achieve climate and circularity goals. A circular economy within Europe will enable the mills to supply 50% of the aluminum demand through recycling by 2050, reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 39 million tons or 46% of today’s emissions.

In order to achieve aluminum in the Green Deal and Circular Economy eras, European Aluminum is promoting strategic autonomy for formulating metals industry policies. The association is increasing concerns about imported aluminum that may have been made through high-carbon-emission methods.
