ALVANCE Aluminium, a global integrated aluminum company, part of GFG Alliance, submitted an application for a project to build an aluminum recycling plant next to the Lochaber aluminum smelter near Fort William, Scotland to the government department in late 2020, and this proposal has been approved by the Highland Council.

This new plant is a casting factory, which will use recycled materials and metals provided by the smelter. Up to 100,000 tons of cast aluminum billets were planned per year, which will be used in the construction industry.
